On this 18 km section, which constitutes Lot 2 of the Babadjou-Bamenda road, work on the base course is underway, with 5.5 km completed by March 15, 2024. Earthworks have been completed along the entire length of the road, and 10 km of the base course has been laid. Of the project's 52 hydraulic structures, 48 have been completed and the prefabricated elements for the remaining 4 are available.
Like Section 1, the project also includes a related component, with the development of the Mile 11 - Lake Awing - Farmers Potatoes Warehouse - Catholic School Afuh - Awing Market - GHS Mewungne -Three Corners Awing road. The company has started work on the 18km/23.5km right-of-way, which has been cleared to date. The road will be upgraded to a two-layer surface over a length of 23km.
The Babadjou-Bamenda road reconstruction project calls for a pavement structure comprising a 30 cm sub-base of recycled and improved materials (30% GNT 0/31.5), a single-layer overlay on the soil concrete, a 20 cm sub-base of untreated gravel (GNT 0/31.5), a 13 cm base of bitumen gravel and a 5 cm wearing course of semi-grained asphalt concrete.
