CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE/SEMI-FINAL RETURN: The four qualifiers take the stage this weekend

The return phase of the semi-finals of the Champions League of the Confederation of African Football will be played this weekend at CAF stadiums. Al Ahly, TP Mazembe, Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance de Tunis will again be on the arenas to try to win the ticket to the final.

Fans of continental football will know the identity of the two teams who will face each other in the final of the CAF Champions League at the end of the semi-final matches scheduled for March 26, 2024. Indeed, a few facts will be able to make the difference during this return leg of the semi-finals.

Al Ahly was impeccable at home

Al Ahly have won their four matches played at home and are unbeaten. He has a record of three wins and one draw during this CAF Champions League season. Cairenes have always been superior to Tout Puissant Mazembe at home. In 2002 they defeated the Congolese club at home (1-0), and in the group stage (2-1) in 2012.

Mamelodi Sundowns, it’s time to play

Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance de Tunis will face each other this weekend in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The South African club which does not like to confine itself to its camp will have a hard time facing Esperance de Tunis. In the first leg, the Praetorians won the majority of duels in this sequence of play.

Tout Puissant Mazembé ready for the duel.

The legendary Congolese club which will face Al Alhly distinguished itself in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Magloire Ntambwe and Johnson Atibu Radjabu imposed a varied style of play in central defense, putting all Egyptian offensives in difficulty. According to CAF statistics, Magloire Ntambwe has won 86% of his aerial duels this season. The original Congolese defender scores big in terms of percentage in the history of the tournament since Bulelani with Orlando Pirates in 2018 - 2019, i.e. 87%.

Hope of Tunis

Esperance de Tunis has had a flawless run in its last 7 Champions League matches. Amanallah Memmiche, a young 20-year-old goalkeeper, could keep this statistic next Friday against the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns with his teammates.

At the end of these rivalries between the four best clubs in Africa, the die is now cast. Next Friday at the end of the semi-finals the finalists of the 2024 Caf Champions League will be known. Just Wait and see.
