CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP: Dreams FC and Zamalek separate with a goalless score in the semi-final first leg

The Egyptian club Zamalek and the Ghanaian club Dreams FC tied with zero goals everywhere in the semi-final of the CAF Confederations Cup first leg on April 21, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt. The two African clubs will play the return match next weekend in Kumassi.

 



The Egyptians had several chances to score, but were unable to materialize them against the formidable opponents of Dreams FC who were able to sharpen their claws against Egypt's best club in the semi-final first leg of the Confederations Cup. CAF on April 21, 2024 in Cairo. Indeed, from the start of the match, Zamalek exerted pressure, but failed to gain the upper hand over its opponent. Shikabala, Mostafa Shalaby and Ahmed Hamdi multiply unsuccessful offensives against the Dreams FC goalkeeper who remains vigilant and repels all attempts.

 

Dreams FC, the Ghanaian club, took control of the situation during the match and gradually approached the Egyptian defensive line with strike attempts which found the immense goalkeeper Hossam Abdelmaguid in a good position. Zamalek's Ibrahima Ndiaye saw his shot hit the bar in the final minutes of the match. The Egyptian club was unable to break through the Ghanaian defensive hinge until the end of the impervious match.

 

With this parity match in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup semi-finals, the die is cast between Dreams FC and Zamalek. It will be up to everyone to better position themselves in the second leg of the semi-finals which will be played in Kumassi next weekend, at the end of which the first finalist will be known.
