The related press conference on April 19, 2024 also served as a pretext for SM Taybe Ngaba, the promoter of this project, to take stock of the preparations for the second edition of the international Moundang festival (Fii Moundang) which will be held in Chad in 2025.
The observation is clear: culture plays an essential role in the process of bringing people together all over the world.
In the CEMAC zone, for several years now, an effort has been made in this direction by the organizers of festivals and other socio-cultural and socio-economic events with a sub-regional scope. Among others: the annual CEMAC cross-border fair (FROTAC); the Massa Community Festival(Tokna Massana); the cultural festival of the Toupouri people and the Nguon (festival of the Bamoun people). An almost generalized socio-cultural emulation in Cameroon and in the sub-region for some time which reflects “the reconnection of pre-existing community territorialities of the past”.
However, it turns out that “the organizational articulation of these cultural events illustrates a certain disharmony which results, for example, in overlapping or proximity of the dates of their holdings”. At least that’s what SM Taybe Ngaba thinks. He has just expressed this during a meeting with men and women from the media.
A meeting which therefore allowed him to present his project, which, according to him, will sufficiently highlight the diverse and multiple opportunities of each and all of these events.
For this, through the concept called “Tour of Cameroon and CEMAC festivals”, SM Taybe Ngaba intends to begin by bringing together around the same table, the different organizers of these festivals, experts, scientists, governmental, local authorities and other parties to discuss: On the prospects for better planning of these events, on their capitalization, and on the multiple opportunities they generate. But “especially on the coherent articulation of a real dynamic of national and sub-regional integration based on these socio-cultural and socio-economic expressions”, ultimately indicated, SM Taybe Ngaba.
