With an overall progress level of 85%, work on the two sections connecting the first phase of the highway, on the Yaoundé side via Nkolbisson (11.14 km) and on the Nationale 3 side through Boumnyebel over a length of 13.50 km are almost complete. , and the company is busy carrying out the related work of the project.
At the beginning of March 2024, the overall progress on track 1 connecting phase 1 of the highway to the urban network of the city of Yaoundé by Nkolbisson, was estimated at 98% and on section 2, which connects this infrastructure on the N3 via Boumnyebel is 97%. Only vertical and horizontal signaling work is in progress on section 1 with 70% progress. On section 2 going from PK 59+300 to PK 60+500 (P10 roundabout) over a length of less than one kilometer, the remaining work concerns the construction of the lateritic gravel foundation layer, the construction of the layer of untreated gravel base, concrete road work and construction of the wearing course.
At PK 1+240 to PK 3+440 (Makai village) - P10, the remaining work concerns the implementation of the lateritic gravel foundation layer is 97% complete, the roadway work is 97% complete. Between PK 3+440 and PK 13+460, 5800 ml of ditches are made out of the 6175 ml planned, the work on the GNT foundation layer is completed from PK3+550 to PK13+527, the work on the layer bearing in EME are also completed, only the beginnings of PK 6+300 to PK 11+500 remain. The implementation of the double layer on the shoulders is 60% complete and the construction work of the hydraulic structure of PK 9+045 is completed, all that remains is to carry out the protection and recalibration work.
The second part of this project, that linked to related works, concerns the development of access to the lake road at PK 5 section 1 (1,850 km), the development of the missionaries road section 1 (2.70 km), the rehabilitation of the Makai-Ngog-Mapubi road on section 2 (6,071km), the construction of a girder bridge over the POUGUE river. Regarding the development of access to the lake road at PK 5, it is indicated that 80% of the earthworks and 90% of the sanitation works have been carried out. Rehabilitation works on the Makai-Ngog-Mapubi road have been completed. Construction of guardrails and road joints is underway on the Pougue River.
