Started a few months ago, the work on this important axis is completed by March 11, 2024 at 12.34%. On the site, the company MAG SARL in charge of the construction of this 31 km section carried out the work of felling trees, cleaning and stripping from PK 57+100 to PK 64+600. Concerning the earthworks already carried out, this concerns excavated deposited for a volume of 59,372 m³, rock excavated 16,479.85 m³ and backfill from excavated 110,924.43 m³. We also note that the company's equipment is gradually transported to the site and the crushing plant is installed at the quarry. Construction work on the weighbridge is nearing completion and the aggregate storage area is being developed. To launch the activities of this plant, cleaning of the firing front and drilling are underway, the materialization of the security perimeter has been carried out and the development of the bypass road is being completed.
On a completely different level, we note that the key personnel of the company have been mobilized and are made up of Cameroonian engineers and experts. On a daily basis, several young local residents are also involved in carrying out the work. The company was strongly recommended to ensure that staff wore PPE, to provide approach signage to the right of active workshops and to implement its waste management plan.
