FOOTBALL: while African players stand out in terms of salaries abroad, black coaches are going through the ordeal in Africa.

African footballers are establishing themselves through their talents in foreign championships and this is forcing club managers to hire them for considerable remuneration. African coaches, for their part, experience the complex in terms of salary and are very often pushed aside to the detriment of the settler.

The observation is alarming for coaches and encouraging for African footballers who play in the European, American, Russian and Asian championships. They were able to associate their talents with their market value by imposing a certain consideration on recruiting clubs. Among the best paid African footballers in Europe are Victor Osimhen.

Victor Osimhen is valued at 110 million euros.

The finalist of the last 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast is the most expensive African player at the moment. He was able to rise to the top of his game through his performances on the field. The Nigerian striker is valued at 110 million euros, he is attracting envy in Europe. Under contract with the Naples club in Italy until 2026, the holder of the 2023 Confederation of African Football Golden Ball receives a salary of 450,000 euros/month. He is treated better than several European footballers like his Naples teammate, the Portuguese Mario Rui who is estimated at 04 million euros.

Franck Zambo Anguissa, better paid compared to Europeans.

We also note the case of André Franck Zambo Anguissa estimated at 35 million euros, leaving several European footballers at the bottom of the table. Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian, is the leader of the Liverpool side and has broken several records in recent years. Apart from his talent as a fast attacker, he is expensive in England. The 2021 Africa Cup finalist in Cameroon is valued at 65 million euros. In one year Mohamed Salah receives a salary of 13,531,406,200 FCFA. Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan from Paris Saint-Germain, is signed for 65 million euros. Figures which sufficiently show that the African has a say on the international level through his talent. Apart from the market value of African footballers in the European championships, the situation of African coaches is worrying.

African coaches are treated lightly.

If African footballers have established themselves in Europe through their talents, it must be recognized that this is not the case among African coaches. Several cases illustrate the frustrations that they experience in the exercise of their profession. Because it is very easy to hire a black coach for a pitiful sum, ask him for the results and drop him at the first failure. The case of Rigobert Song named in February 2022 by fecafoot for an amount of 18,850,000 CFA francs is an example which appears aberrant in view of the record of service and the pressure of the people. However, Marc Brys, his successor, would receive 26,000,000 CFA francs, or 8,000,000 CFA francs more than Rigobert Song. The same scenario occurred in Ivory Coast with Jean Louis Gasset who reached 70,840. 000 FCFA. Replaced by Emerse Faé, winner of Can 2023, the Ivorian state has shown no desire to offer him the same salary. Aliou Cissé  from Senegal, winner of Can 2021 in Cameroon, was at the center of a salary controversy. However, faced with a white coach, experienced or not in Africa, the leaders signed the contract without any form of trial. As a reminder, it is time to leave the colonial yoke and allow African coaches to better express themselves with the same means allocated to colonists.
