Integrative road programs and transport facilitation projects

Effects induced by the execution of projects and programs

The completion of construction work on several roads and their commissioning have to date noted a positive impact on several sectors of socio-economic life. Two transport agencies provide connections on the Yaoundé-Ntam line (Congo border) twice a week and transport an average of 700 passengers from Douala and Yaoundé to Brazzaville each month since the start of 2023. We note in addition that around 150 large carriers cross the road each week with their cargoes and the customs revenues of the Ntam customs office reached a rate of 135% in 2023. Furthermore, there is an increase of 8% in the quantities of products exported from Cameroon to Congo since 2020 and a considerable reduction in transport costs (from 35,000 FCFA to 12,000 FCFA on average) and delays (3 days at 6 a.m.) between Yaoundé and Ntam (Cameroon-border). Congo).

On the Nationale 15, we note an increase in the proportion of the rural population living less than 2 km from an all-season road (the rural access index) from 21.2% in 2017 to 49.8 % in 2022 along the Ntui-Ndjole-Meiteing-Yoko road and other improvements, including reduction in transport cost (from 13,000 FCFA to 3,000 FCFA) as well as the duration of the journey (2 days to 1 hour 30 min) between Tibati and Yoko (200 km), the expansion of commercial activities along the Ntui-Mankim-Meiting-Yoko-Lena-Tibati-Ngatt and Mintom-Lélé-Ntam-Mbalam road, the reduction of transport costs operation of vehicles, the creation of direct and indirect jobs and the increase in household income in localities located along the rehabilitated or built roads and the development of the technical, material and financial capacities of three (03) Companies and ten (10) National SMEs in charge of road works and socio-economic infrastructure. The financial volume of the markets of these national companies is 115,419,894,372 CFA francs excluding tax.
