The conference room of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security served as the setting this Tuesday, March 12, 2024, for the signing of the company collective agreement between the employer group, staff representatives accompanied by the national president of senior and executive employees banks and financial establishments of Cameroon Isaac Bissala and the government represented by the Ministry of Labor.
It is a happy outcome of 16 months of struggle in a spirit of tolerance and patience without the need for strike action or the sound of boots. This is proof of the parties' desire to reach a consensus after so much effort and self-sacrifice.
For a 1st category public company, it is a question of adhering to the law in order to allow its staff to better enjoy their rights governed by the law. “I congratulate the president of the joint commission for the work done during these 16 months of negotiations” indicated the general director of Feicom in his speech, specifying that “Feicom is the goose that lays the golden eggs which must be respected the rhythm of the laying, hence our patience and our high sense of respect for institutions”.
He specifies that this is the 5th revaluation in 18 years overall is the following, office workers increase of more than 33%, supervisors 31% and executives 19%, general management is committed to maintaining dialogue social, to take into account its human capital and remain a transmission belt between the organization and the government. For the Minister of Labor and Social Security Grégoire Owona, this is proof that social dialogue is a reality in our country even if the pace is slow, “it is long-term work and it is necessary that the appetites employees do not exceed what can be granted to them, it is not an easy task but oh so exciting” indicated the minister.

Philippe Camille Akoa, DG du Feicom
« In 2012, Feicom concluded a company agreement between general management and its staff which provides a certain number of benefits improving the living conditions of staff. As soon as it is signed, a review is planned every 3 years, today we are at the 3rd revision of this collective agreement which has also improved the living conditions of employees, it must also be said that this brings an improvement of 5% and many other advantages taking into account the increase in fuel costs for transport.
There are also allowances for the staff of the general management and those of the agencies, what the DG would like to say precisely is that Feicom has staff who are competent, it constitutes, as we call it, the human capital of our company and it is thanks to it that the general management has the results that we know there. The government regularly congratulates us and the CTDs have this recognition. For us, this revision certainly does not resolve everything as the minister indicated, there are always demands, for the general management and all the staff, this new commitment is still a recognition at the level of the state so we promise after the signing of this document to continue working as the minister said, there was no strike, no marches and we will continue negotiations for other benefits with the aim to always recognize the efforts of each other. The gate will now be closed at 7:20 a.m. so that work can begin at 7:30 a.m., that’s also discipline».
