Press conference at the Centre Régional des Impôts 2

The tax regional of center 2 was facing the media on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

The new reforms of the 2024 Finance Law authorize the Directorate General of Taxes to introduce several tax innovations that take into account the informal sector and even crypto-currency and web-based activities. This year, the IRPP is back after a 20-year suspension, and will be imposed even on foreigners resident in Cameroon. The offensive will extend to schools, with a view to raising awareness and preparing the younger generation for tax compliance..

Daniel hyppolite Bickoe, Regional Head of Tax Center Centre 2

« The main message to remember is that by June 30, 2024, all citizens who are considered non-professional taxpayers must go to www.impôt.cm, the web portal of the General Tax Directorate, to submit their annual tax returns. By "non-professional taxpayers" we mean all those who do not belong to one of the various categories of tax regimes, such as "impôt libératoire", "régime du réel simplifié", "régime du réel" or "régime des organismes à but non lucratif". Those who have already declared their income will continue to do so, and those who do not belong to any of these regimes will have until June 30, 2024 to declare their income online. The need to do so stems from the civic responsibility of contributing to public burdens according to one's ability to pay. It's time for those who have income to declare it, so that everyone can contribute to the national burden. ».
