Rehabilitation of the Mbalmayo-Sangmélima road: the roadway is completely recycled on the surface of lot 3



In addition to the recycling operations on lots 1, 2 and 3, the winning companies carry out other services linked to their specifications, with respective progress rates of 20.68%, 38.93% and 79.20% at the end of the contract. month of March 2024.

Generally speaking, we note that the rehabilitation work on National 9, Mbalmayo-Sangmélima, is being carried out at varying levels. If on lot 3 which starts from Sangmélima and extends over 27 km, the work is progressing adequately with a progress of 79.20%, the services of lot 2 which extends over a linear 42.5 km are following their course. On lot 1, 39.5 km long from kilometer point 0+000 in the locality of Ekombitié to kilometer point 39+500 in Nkolaya III in the Center region, ROUTD'AF SA is carrying out the recycling of the roadway over 1,575 km with a pace of work which concerns the Client. Other ongoing services concern the clearing and cleaning of road approaches carried out over 205,750 m², the cleaning of earth ditches carried out over the 1,025 km planned, 43,400 m² of emulsion impregnation with sandblasting carried out, the resurfacing of the shoulders over 6,200 km on both sides and the construction of triangular ditches in reinforced concrete, with 1,513 km completed to date.


On the second lot, ARAB CONTRACTORS, winner of the works contract on this 42.5 km section, is continuing the construction of the housing, as well as the clearing and cleaning of the road approaches, with to date 27,749 m² completed out of the 27,749 m² planned. . The emulsion impregnation with sandblasting carried out covers 80,250 m² and 5 km of two-layer surface coating have already been implemented with 9,031 km of recycled pavement. This second batch starts from kilometer point 39+500 in the locality of Nkolaya III, Central region to kilometer point 82+00 in the locality of Nkout II South region. On the third lot whose completion rate is the highest with 79.20% of work carried out, the major progress at the start of April 2024 is the total recycling of the roadway on the 47,635 m² planned (27 km ). Furthermore, the company RAZEL Cameroun is deployed along the route to continue the construction of triangular reinforced concrete ditches and the implementation of the two-layer surface coating on a current surface area of 5775 m² between the PK 91+500 and PK 94+450. A test board for the production of the bituminous concrete wearing course was also produced on this lot.

In the future, an acceleration of work on lots 2 and 3 is planned.
