It was on the occasion of the “Trophy tour” organized by MTN, official sponsor of the One and Two elite championships on April 23, 2024 at the Star building in Yaoundé. Victoria United took advantage of the event to present the trophy to certain members of the government before following their tour to Douala.
Promoted to Elite One last year in troubled conditions, marked by physical violence between supporters and referees, corruption, and match-fixing in the second division, Victoria United has proven in this 2024 sporting season which is gradually ending, that he deserves his place among the leaders. Valentin Kwain's club is winner of the MTN elite One championship, and has taken over in the background, several legendary clubs of Cameroonian football like Coton sport de Garoua, Colombe du Dja et Lobo and Bamboutos de Mbouda. He thus won the 64th edition of the Cameroonian championship with a total of 13 points. This is the first title in its history since its rebirth in 2002. Victoria United has evolved without failure since the regional league in 2022.

Indeed, Valentin Kwain's club won the South-West regional league in 2022 and was promoted to the second division in 2023. In 2024 it was promoted to the first division where the Limbé club inscribed its name in the history of the football in MTN elite One, winning the championship a year after moving up to the first division. This rare performance received encouragement from the Prime Minister head of government and several other members of the government in Yaoundé.

They were received at the star building on April 23, 2024 by Prime Minister Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute. Valentin Kwain's protégés holding the Cameroon champion trophy in their hands received encouragement and support from Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.
In addition to this moment, the Victoria United caravan converged on the secondary education ministry of Nalova Lyonga Pauline for the same exercise. As a reminder, after the Yaoundé and Douala stage, the “Trophy tour” caravan will deploy in the cities of Buea and Limbé accompanied by the reigning champion Victoria United.
