  • 1st conference of central and decentralized services of the CNTS for the year 2024

Placed on the theme "Accelerating the deployment of the CNTS at the decentralized level with a view to intensifying mobilization in favor of ethical blood donation", the opening work on Tuesday March 12, 2024 was chaired by the Director General, Professor Dora Mbaya . For four days, it will be a question of taking stock of the activities of the CNTS for the year 2023 with a view to developing an effective roadmap which will unveil the operational work plan for 2024. In an educational manner, the work in plenary will allow groups of presentations, work in workshops which will make it possible to develop the operational work plan and update the contributions of the CNYS for the national blood transfusion policy and the national strategic plan. Reaction Pr Dora Mbaya, general director of the CNTS “We need 400 thousand blood bags per year yet we are only at 35% of the needs collected, the needs are still enormous. We must always encourage people to get up and donate blood freely and without expecting any remuneration. The tendency is that we see people being embarrassed when it is a relative outside of it. Donors are needed so that the situation at the hospital level is filled. When one is in need, one can only receive someone's blood because no science has been able to manufacture blood in a laboratory. You know, we are in a phase of all-out awareness raising, that is what we are trying to do, educate the population and that is where the media intervene by making their contributions in the fight against prejudice. We use all possible strategies, in universities, churches or mosques and as you know at the slightest opportunity, we do it constantly and an international day is dedicated to the donor, June 14. Raising awareness remains our permanent action, recently we were at the Vita course, a few days ago we were at Promote without forgetting the flyers that we distribute when the opportunity arises. • 13th African Games in Accra: Cameroon and Senegal plunged into uncertainty

Cameroon is represented at the 13th edition of the African Games in Accra, Ghana by 65 athletes for eight disciplines. Its representatives made a mixed performance at this competition with a premature exit of the karateka even if the fight has already made it possible to glean three bronze medals. Cameroon The Cameroonian delegation taking part in the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana is made up of 65 athletes for 8 sporting disciplines. Among the disciplines represented are boxing, judo, women's handball, karate, wrestling, men's volleyball, athletics and weightlifting. In athletics, for example, the Cameroon team is made up of 10 athletes including 5 women and 5 men. Judo is made up of 8 athletes including 4 ladies and 4 men. In weightlifting 02 ladies and 02 men, making a total of 04 athletes. In boxing, Cameroon is represented by 03 boxers including two gentlemen and one lady. In the fight, several Cameroonian athletes stood out in Accra and won medals just 4 days before the start of the competition. Only wrestling is the pride of Cameroon for the moment with three medals. He is Cameroon's standard bearer for the moment at the African Games. This discipline achieved the feat of offering Cameroon its first three medals through the bravery of Blandine Ngiri in the 68 kg category, Myriam Orock in the 53 kg category and Rosine Assouga 50 kg. All medals won so far are bronze. Indeed, the number of metals could increase as the tournament continues. Because the wrestler Cédric Abessolo among the men has not yet entered the ring. Just like his compatriots Monty and Tamby. For the moment, Cameroon is doing well with wrestling and is gradually giving joy to sports fans after numerous defeats recorded in other competitions. Senegal's men's and women's football teams are living a nightmare. The second day of the African Games goes badly for Senegal. The representatives of the country of Sadio Mané were beaten in both men and women on March 11, 2024 in Ghana. Despite their successful entry against South Sudan (0-1). The U20 lionesses of Senegal fell to Uganda. The Ugandan goal is the only achievement of the match. He was scored on a kick on goal by Allan Oyirwotha in two stages in the 27th minute. Uganda secured their place in the semi-finals. While Senegal and Nigeria have the same number of points and are forced into a sharing meeting next Friday. Among the two great football nations, one will remain. In the women's category, the Senegalese U20s were victims of the anger of the Nigerians (0-4), in this three-team group, the U20 lionesses and Morocco will compete for the last place next Thursday. A draw would be enough for the Moroccans to qualify. While the U20 lionesses of Senegal will have to win to stay in the competition. J.Patrick DJON

People living with disabilities (physical, visual, reduced motor skills, etc.) were at the party with the Ministry of Social Affairs. And what can we say about UN organizations, certain development partners, sister countries like the CAR that have left their mark on this celebration. It was with a dinner offered to distinguished guests by the first lady at the Hilton hotel and the popular celebrations in the various headquarters that the lanterns were extinguished, meeting next year for another edition. • Month of Ramadan: Starts this Tuesday March 12, 2024

The Muslim community of Cameroon joins the international community to begin this Tuesday, March 12, a period of daytime deprivation. The fast of Ramadan constitutes one of the five pillars (arkân) of Islam, along with the profession of faith (chahâda), prayer (salât) five times a day, almsgiving (zakat) and pilgrimage. (hajj) to Mecca. Muslims must respect three major prohibitions during this period. They are prohibited from eating, drinking and having sexual relations during the day, between dawn and sunset. Origine of Ramadan In the year 610, the angel Gabriel appeared to the prophet Muhammad and revealed to him the Koran, the Islamic sacred book. This revelation, Laylat Al Qadar  or the “Night of Destiny” is said to have taken place during Ramadan. Muslims fast during this month to commemorate the revelation of the Quran. The month of Ramadan, Ninth month of the lunar year during which believers must abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, wearing perfume and having sexual relations between sunrise and sunset. It is a lunar calendar, which is why the length of the months varies from 28, 29 to 30 days. This is also the reason why the date of Ramadan shifts each year and is subject to change. the last ten days are the most important, according to the Koran and the sunnah, the Islamic tradition. It is in this period that the night of destiny “Laylatoul Qadri” is located, whose grace is equivalent to a thousand months. • NGANNOU - JOSHUA: A fatal error shakes up the former UFC champion

Here is the track record of the two men. After worrying Tyson Fury, MMA champion Francis Ngannou fell to heavyweight Anthony Joshua on March 9, 2024. In two rounds, the Cameroonian was defeated, making the Briton the winner of the game. A look back at the results of the two men. The fight between Ngannou and Joshua, which ended with a referee's decision in favor of the British of Nigerian origin in the second round in Saudi Arabia, does not surprise admirers of the noble art in the world. Anthony Joshua Indeed, Anthony Joshua is the 2012 Olympic champion in London, a member of the heavyweight elite, medalist at the Baku world championships in 2011, English heavyweight champion, world heavyweight champion of English boxing. International Boxing Federation (IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing (WBO). He weighs 114 kg, including 09 kg less than Francis Ngannou. He is 34 years old and is 01.98 meters tall. Joshua is now the author of 28 victories, including 25 before the end of the fight and 03 defeats. He is experienced in English boxing. He used his strike force, his technique and his experience on March 9 in Riyadh to defeat the Cameroonian Francis Ngannou, who was not very combative and motivated, during a boxing fight highly anticipated by the fans. For this duel, Anthony Joshua sent his opponent to the mat twice before delivering a destructive blow from the right which forced the referee to end the game. Francis Ngannou But what must be remembered is the courage of Francis Ngannou who marks his first steps in English boxing. The Cameroonian made a courageous decision a few months ago to leave UFC fighting where he is now the ex-world champion to fight with the English boxing champions. Less than a year old, Francis Ngannou fought his second fight. He worried dipsing King Tyson Fury during his first appearance in the ring on October 28, 2023 by sending him to the mat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before losing by a controversial decision by the Jury. Francis Ngannou is 37 years old. He measures 123 kg with a height of 1.93 meters. Facing Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, the Cameroonian surprised the world of sport by dominating Fury in quick succession. He even inflicted a knockdown, although in the end he was dismissed by a split and controversial decision from the judges. He then won the hearts of several thousand fans. Finally, Ngannou remains a boxer despite his two defeats in English boxing. Because the identity of his next opponent is known. This is Rena Ferreiro. This fight will take place in an MMA cage, a sport in which his track record speaks for itself.. J. Patrick DJON

  • English Boxing: Francis Ngannou, a good sparring partner or a “show animal”?

The question deserves to be asked after the two defeats that our compatriot has just suffered in less than a year for his entry into this discipline, the noble Art. A crushing defeat against the British of Nigerian origin Anthony Joshua in the 2nd round only by knockout on the night of Friday to Saturday March 9, 2024. Our compatriot showed shortcomings in his movements on stage, his protection or even his dodging. His image of invincibility was confronted with the harsh reality of his limitations in Boxing. Was his preparation ideal? This defeat, although painful, offers him the opportunity to bounce back by getting back to work, a good preparation in order to return to the ring or return to the cage in MMA, it is still too early to answer. The road to redemption will not be easy but with determination and courage he can return but which way? the Ring or the Cage, very clever who can answer us now. The question deserves to be asked after the two defeats that our compatriot has just suffered in less than a year while trying to make his way in this discipline, the noble Art. A crushing defeat against the British of Nigerian origin Anthony Joshua in the 2nd round by KO. Our compatriot showed shortcomings in his movements on stage which were a little too heavy, his protection or even his dodging. His image of invincibility was confronted with the reality of his limitations in English Boxinge. Francis Ngannou, a “fairground animal”? The question deserves to be asked because as soon as we leave the stage we already announce a return to MMA for August 15, a fight against Ferreira, a tough fighter for the title of PFL heavyweight world champion with an envelope of 10 million dollars at stake. Will he already recover from the Jab, Cross, Hook or uppercut received during the two fights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua? The future will tell us, it will have at least had the merit of restoring visibility to the noble art in less than a year. What makes Riyadh so popular in the sporting world? It is true that the last World Cup in Qatar continues to resonate against a snub to the “big countries” of the sub-region. One of the positive outcomes is Qatar's victory in the last Asian Nations Cup. In order to meet this challenge, the Saudi kingdom has decided to conquer the sporting world by multiplying and investing enormous sums of money over the past few years to attract the big names of king football to the Saudi Pro League in order to make their football championship attractive, which has shaken up the hierarchy on TV rights in terms of attractiveness. This is how the place of Riyadh asserts itself more and more in the noble art with the organization of these fights, just wait and see. Clément Noumsi

  • March 8, 2024: CICAM imported more than 2 million linear meters of loincloths

The objective of the operation is, according to a source, to compensate for the production deficit of the loincloth for International Women's Day which the company has been facing for several years. 2.2 million linear meters. This is the quantity of loincloths that the Cameroon Industrial Cotonnière (CICAM) would have imported on the eve of the celebration in Cameroon of International Women's Day on March 8. A decision which, according to the online site EcoMatin, which cites one of its sources “made it possible to temporarily absorb the production deficit encountered for several years”. Indeed, still according to the same source, it is therefore with the aim of satisfying its local market that the public-owned company signed an agreement with an Indian subcontractor in order to ensure the availability of the March 8 loincloth for not less than ten billion CFA francs. In return indicates the same source, CICAM must reimburse its counterpart after the sales while maintaining its margin in this commercial operation.. However, some say, it would have been better for the company to resolve the problem of obsolescence of its production tools which, according to a report from the Technical Commission for the Rehabilitation of Public and Parapublic Sector Companies (CTR) has persisted since 2017. Year during which said production tool of the structure began to have repeated breakdowns. This is how, faced with growing demand and the technical inability of the structure to respond to said demand for March 8 loincloths, CICAM, recalls another source in the newspaper, will then begin to resort to imports in 2023. The source adds that the company would have imported, during the aforementioned year, 1.1 million linear meters from the same subcontractor while producing only 900,000 linear meters. While in 2022, this production was around 1.5 million linear meters compared to 2.1 million in 2021. A decline of 28.5%. Yet concluded the newspaper's source "we have made a request to the State to repair our factories as best as possible at a cost amounting to hundreds of millions of CFA francs." A proposal which, if it had been validated, would have made it possible to boost production and avoid the outflow of foreign currencies due to imports as is currently the case. Julien Efila

  • CEMAC: The sub-regional institution celebrates its 30th anniversary from March 16

A commemoration which offers, according to a press release sent to our editorial staff, the different community structures the opportunity each as far as they are concerned to carry out a retrospective analysis of the thirty years which have just passed. Placed under the theme "thirty years of experience of CEMAC in the service of regional integration: assessment and perspectives", this commemoration whose large solemn ceremony will be chaired by Faustin Archange Touadera, the current president of the conference of heads of The State, next March 16 (launch date of activities which will extend throughout 2024) will also offer the opportunity for these so-called community structures to better assess public expectations in order to plan the future. In addition, according to the press release dated March 8, 2024, signed by the communications director of CEMAC, this particular event in that it coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the institution will be an opportunity for President Touadera , during his message to the community to educate citizens on the progress of the sub-regional organization. As a reminder, “since its establishment in 1994, and especially with the adoption of the Regional Economic Program (PER) in 2010, in Bangui, CEMAC has worked to support the development of a true common market with a view to 'an irreversible integration, working towards progressive sectoral harmonization of the texts of its Member States for the implementation of common policies. Furthermore, adds the document, “major transport projects, road and energy infrastructure, agriculture, livestock breeding, fishing as well as community land use planning have been developed with tangible achievements. Without forgetting that “education, health and the improvement of governance, which alone ensure the quality of people and guarantee their development, have also been a concern of CEMAC for 30 years. As well as the facilitation of inter-university exchanges observed today as well as the creation of internationally recognized community training structures are eloquent marks of the efforts deployed in this area. • Music: “Let’s turn the page”, new eponymous song from REME STAR’s new maxi single

The group MA’A MEGA ET LES REMES STARS continue to raise awareness about peace and unity in music, for the better development of Cameroon. The Cameroonian cultural center of Yaoundé hosted on February 29, 2024, the dedication concert of the new maxi single by REME STAR, entitled “tournons la page”. The maxi single is made up of two tracks including the eponymous “tournons la page” and “kebou”, sung in Bafang, Bangou and French. He thus announces the next REME STAR album. The song “Tournons la page” is inspired by the many problems facing Cameroon at the moment. In this title, REME STAR calls on the people to forget the problems that have passed, particularly in the north-west and south-west regions with the separatists, including in other areas of insecurity in Cameroon; Let us forget and come together to build Cameroon. She calls for unity, solidarity, mutual aid; it invites each citizen to put their star or their know-how at the service of the community; while remembering that everyone comes with their star, there are those who come to be leaders, those who come to organize; stars serving journalism, music, politics and many others. We will have to bring together our stars, our abilities, our experiences, our skills, to be able to build Cameroon, because we cannot build a country with jealousy, division, hatred. A message which thus enhances the message of the song “hand in hand”. DJOMO Jeannette, now aged 80, is one of the founders and leader of the cultural group MA'A MEGA ET LES REMES STARS, which was founded in 1972 in BAPOUADJOU in western Cameroon. The group initiated a dance called Lokshwue, which is a rhythm much like Benskin. Lokshwue means yellow yam and has its roots in Bafang. This rhythm translates in its depth, the gathering of women who go to the fields and most of whom have not gone to school, and the yam is this commodity that they cultivate. The dance in its execution is done with women who have on their heads, baskets with a few yams, holding a hoe in their hands, to say that they are going to the fields, to cultivate and feed the world. The Lokshwue allowed DJOMO Jeannette, REME STAR, oldest member of the MA'A MEGA ET LES REMES STARS group, to travel to the USA through the DJANKA community, which was able to offer a great getaway to the latter with the main goal to promote Cameroonian culture beyond borders, through magnificently developed messages from REME STAR. DJOMO Jeannette remains the only one of the three founders of the group, the other two passed away Remember that THE MA'A MEGA AND THE REMES STARS revealed themselves to the general public with the famous song "la main dans la main", a true anthem of national unity, which was notably covered in collaboration with Arthur dj. Today, a new page is opening, that of "let's turn the page", to better assert ourselves in this desire to raise awareness in society and participate in the correction of morals. The dedication concert, which was a great success, made it possible to make the maxi single available in all its splendor and flavor for the benefit of all music lovers. Bertin BIDJA

  • Culture: Death of international Franco-Cameroonian drummer Felix Sabal Lecco

Testimonies that will forever mark his art and his life in the musical universe around the world. The final farewells are thus announced for March 14 at the Dome of the Père Lachaise crematorium in Paris. It was on the night of March 3 to 4, 2024 that he was taken from life. Felix Sabal Lecco leaves the music scene in a Paris hospital, leaving an entire community in extreme dismay. The famous drummer, Féfé, as he was affectionately called, leaves beautiful pages in the history of the great musicians of the world, and more particularly of Africa, of the story of Richard Bona, Gino Gitson and many other Cameroonians at the top of the planet. A multidisciplinary musician, Féfé was a drummer, bassist, songwriter, performer, producer and arranger. He has collaborated and played with several renowned artists: the Senegalese Youssou N'Dour; the Malian Salif Keïta; the French France Gall, Michel Jonas, Alan Stivell; the British Peter Gabriel with whom he toured, Jeff Beck, Alan Stivell, Sting; the American Lenny Kravitz; the Swedish Jonas Hellborg, Prince. Félix Sabal-Lecco also contributed drums to Paul Simon's album “The Rhythm of the Saints” in 1990. His brother Armand will be on bass and maestro Vincent Nguini, Music Director at Paul Simon, was on guitar. . He also distinguished himself brilliantly in the production of film music, where he composed several music for the documentaries of Luc Riolon and for several other directors. We also note his participation in the music of the “Kirikou” saga. Félix was a great lover of French song, which rocked his early childhood in Cameroon. He has always been inspired by Charles Aznavour, whom he has always considered his idol since the age of 6. A very humble and hardworking man, in his evolution he has displayed many idols like Billy Cobham, but his undisputed master remains the Cameroonian drummer Edouard Koulbellé; a drumming genius who performed at the cabaret “Le Philanthrope” alongside idols such as Roger Sabal-Lecco, Constantin Abel Ambassa “Moustique”, Depadou, Annie disco, and many others. Félix Sabal-Lecco and his brother Armand were members of Manu Dibango's orchestra. In this adventure, Félix will first start as a bassist, then as a drummer, replacing him with his brother Armand. For the little anecdote, his brother Armand, one day, will be late in arriving at rehearsal. So to avoid falling behind, Manu will ask Félix who was the bassist to play as drummer. Armand eventually arrived, but with a slight delay, he was asked to take the bass. He will turn out to be very good on bass. Manu found it so good that he decided, after a concert, to keep the formation as such, which will never change again within Manu's Soul Makossa. He was part of the solid core nicknamed “the commando” made up of Justin Bowen, Ndedi Dibango, Vincent Nguini, Armand Sabal-Lecco. With Manu Dibango, he recorded several international tours (Germany, USA, etc.) and participated in the production of several albums. Son of the former minister and ambassador, Felix Sabal Lecco of late memory, he was born in Yaoundé in a family of 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys. His love for music dates back to his childhood under the influence of his older brother Roger who was performing at the time in well-known clubs in Yaoundé and it was behind Roger that Félix and Armand discovered music. Arriving in France to study as a forest ranger, Féfé will never again be driven by a passion for music, to the point where he ends up putting his studies on hold. Self-taught, he will forge a better future and a brilliant career which will raise him to the top, making him a genius, the fingering of an essential baton which has allowed him to collaborate with big names in music on a scale worldwide. Since March 4, the sad news which immediately spread like wildfire has been experienced through numerous testimonies from people who knew him from near and far, and who consider him a man with a big heart, humanitarian, altruistic, always there for others. On the web, several posts in various languages illustrated by videos or audios, pay tribute to Félix Sabal Lecco. We can then find the message from Richard Bona in Douala and in English, “To Muna Nyangwan  Felix Sabal-Lecco Musician #sadness  Londo na selelé Rest in POWER  Brother My heart goes out to the Sabal Lecco’s Family”. Same dismay for François Constantin, a friend of Félix, who sees the drummer again in their moment of mood "Infinite sadness this morning, Felix Sabal-Lecco Musician has left, but I want to keep from him in addition to the music, these moments of humor, drollery and naturalness that was him. Have a good trip my guy and in any case one of these four”. Numerous testimonies bursting across the internet magnifying the irreplaceable dimension of Féfé; Serge Dunand for a love note in his memory, “My Felix Sabal-Lecco, the news has broken, shattering, the kind of news that we don’t want to believe. And yet...You are now off to set the mood up there. Lucky will be those who meet you up there. Because those who met you down here remember. Each time, it was true, pure happiness. I reread your last text and I admit that it's a little hard. But I'm going to try to remember only those moments where laughter, music, show, come on, I say it: "chase of girl", chambering followed one another. We planned to see each other again soon. I don't know when it will happen, but I can tell you that I see you in my head and I feel you in my heart. Thank you for the love you have distributed to so many people. You knew how to use chopsticks. Peter Gabriel, Prince, Sting, Paul Simon, Manu Dibango...the greatest could attest to this, but above all you knew how to distribute happiness to others. Thank you Felix. I love you, we love you, they love you. »; Journalist Laurent Le Pape recounts Félix’s last moments, “Farewell Old Thing! Video: WhatsApp messages from Felix Sabal-Lecco. The night of March 3 to 4, the shocking news appeared on Félix’s Facebook. It has been several years since he posted anything on his networks, following the death of his mother (2021). A few days before discovering the post-mortem, I learned that the doctors had stopped all his treatments. The die had been cast, the big departure was unfortunately coming soon... Monday March 4, when the news came on my cell phone early in the night, I was both devastated but also relieved for my friend. Yes, relieved because his suffering had lasted too long, the fault of that damn crab, who made a pact with the grim reaper! Finally the light at the end of this dark and endless tunnel crossed by my friend for so long... The loss of Félix's mother in 2021 had a tragic impact on his health. The shock was so intense for my friend that he never recovered. His last Instagram post dated 08/24/2021 marks his “almost” last communication on his social networks. It was a publication in tribute to his mother who had just passed away...", Alain Gozzo immersed in the sadness of seeing his friend leave, "So sad today, my old friend Félix Sabal-Lecco has left for another world. Super drummer, King of Groove, incredible showman, an eternal smile on his lips, unfailing kindness... We shared lounges, drum shows, where you told everyone in your pretty African accent "Alain he is dangerous” and I replied “you’re doing this… you’re ruining my house every time we share the same scene”, and we hugged each other, and we laughed heartily. A great artist and a beautiful person whom I adored. Yes, I’m f… sad…”, His Cameroonian musician brothers do not miss this great ball of testimonies which crown the talents that come from Cameroon, to meet the world on familiar terms. Mireille Fabiola Eba, thanks the hero who left, “Thank you you left like a true warrior Felix Sabal-Lecco I have already had the chance to work and share moments of laughter with your brothers such as Guy Nsangué Akwawe often enjoy speaking in Beti Kayou Roots my brother and friend I am going to shake up my calendar to violate the privacy of Jendah Manga and Christian Bourdon my brothers who love me I know I was not lucky to have your signature brother I regret my false trip ". Jeki Joelle Esso revisits Félix's contribution in his album Mungo "Félix Sabal-Lecco, extraordinary drummer... A great professional of incredible kindness, and what humor! In 2002 I recorded my album "Mungo!". Gino Sitson, PhD suggests I call on Féfé for a few pieces, I answer him "um, will he have the time? With my small budget?" Gino insists. I call Félix who replies: "I'm in London with Peter Gabriel. But if I fit the pieces into one day I'll do the round trip by Eurostar." OMG. He came, he accepted my small budget. What generosity! Féfé, my Féfé as I called you, since we must now speak of you in the past tense, you precede us where we will all go. The shock and sadness are immense but let's celebrate your life above all. Love you forever",  Chrispo Epole salutes the artistic dimension of the man, "Mr Felix Sabal-lecco, We don't say it enough, but the mastery of this outstanding rhythmician had seduced artists as diverse as Manu Dibango, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon and even… Prince! This prestigious epic was well worth a conversation in today's musical universe." Féfé "our Super Man, who we affectionately called go and rest in peace", Kaïssa Doumbe Moulongo, reviews the moments spent alongside Félix, "Immense sadness. Felix Sabal-Lecco my brother and long-time friend. Féfé, your multiple talents; drummer, actor, singer, painter, teacher, showman, producer have embellished our lives. Your legendary joie de vivre, your sunny personality, your loyalty in friendship, your encouragement towards your fellow artists, your love for art, your kindness, your smile are unforgettable. Our ties began in Yaoundé in the 1950s with our parents who were neighbors and friends. To your Sabal-Lecco family Clotilde Daniele Armand and all the siblings, I tell you assia we are with you with all my heart. I will forever cherish our friendship and the last conversation on the phone last week you continued to exude joy and laughter despite everything... Man of class, worthy son of Bertoua. Those who were lucky enough to know you, to work with you on tours/studio sessions, even those who only knew you a little, all agree to pay you vibrant tributes. They all know the luminous being that you were. Tara! At the word wam. Love always. THANKS. Londo na sélélé", Macaire Lemdja, for his part, the memory remains immense, "R.I.P THE ARTIST FÉLIX SABAL LECCO, The page of our years of youth, of carefreeness, of sincere friendship, stripped of any calculation or hints, closes little by little by the reaper who once again got the better of one of us Félix Sabal Lecco, drum virtuoso since the Lycée Général Leclerc and whose other brothers Roger and Armand Sabal-Lecco also excel as musicians. It is with deep regret and shared emotion that we learn of the departure of our brother and friend Félix. May he rest in peace. Our sincere condolences and a lot of courage to the family", For  bassist Jean Dikoto Mandengue, 𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,"The news of Felix's death struck my memory. I send my condolences to his family, in particular to Armand Sabal-Lecco, my bassist colleague, also his younger brother. F𝗲́𝗹𝗶𝘅 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹-𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗼 𝗲́𝘁𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗲́𝗹𝗲́𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗿. It's not easy to play the drums. However, he managed to do it with great mastery. Which contributed to raising the name of Cameroon very high. We met once at a festival in Holland. I was amazed at how impressive the duo he formed tonight with Gino Sitson, PhD. What a loss! The musicians are in mourning. After my friend Slim Pezin, another great artist is leaving. • Activities related to IWD 2024 at Minsanté

The Ladies of the Ministry of Public Health come to the aid of abandoned elderly people taken care of by the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Charity of Simbock in Yaoundé. They demonstrated their generosity on Wednesday March 6, 2024, during the visit to the reception premises of the said congregation for the sick and abandoned elderly people. The residents of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mother Theresa, Missionaries of Charity of Simbock in Yaoundé, had unforgettable moments. It was on the occasion of activities marking the celebration of the 39th edition 2024 of International Women's Rights Day. Responsible for donations of various kinds: food, sanitation, toiletries and bedding, the team led by Dr. KOUAKAP Solange, General Inspector of Pharmaceutical Services and Laboratories (IGSPL), with hand on heart, wanted to show its compassion to these elderly people abandoned and taken care of by the Congregation of the Missionaries of Charity of Simbock. • Equality between men and women: The acceleration of the pace under debate at the General Directorate of the Budget

It was during a dinner conference moderated by Cyrill Edou Alo'o, the director general of this strategic direction of the Ministry of Finance, held on March 7 in Yaoundé. On March 8, 2024, Cameroon, together with all the countries on the planet, celebrated the 39th edition of International Women's Rights Day. As a prelude to this event, ladies from numerous organizations, associations, institutions and administrations carried out for a week a set of activities related to the gender issue, such as the dinner conference organized by the General Directorate of the Budget ( DGB). Based on the theme chosen this year in Cameroon, namely: “Investing in women, accelerating the pace”, the Amazons of the DGB found it interesting to discuss this subject by asking the fundamental question of knowing what investments What should be done to accelerate the pace towards gender equality within the DGB, the Ministry of Finance and Cameroon in general? To answer this question, they invited a set of high-level panelists with the specific objective of identifying investments that have already been made. And above all the levers that must be activated to effectively accelerate the pace towards equality between men and women. During her very enriching presentation, the professor, Viviane Ondoua Biwole, for example, identified a certain number of these levers or actions to be carried out to truly achieve the 50/50 objective as desired by international human rights bodies. wife. She indicated that this concerns discretionary power, remuneration, training for women and girls and gender-sensitive budgeting. This, not without having taken stock of the issue. She noted that although they often have the job profile, women are marginally represented in both elective and nominal positions. Returning to a work that she had written in 2022, the university professor noted that in Cameroon, only 17% of women are members of the government and none has moved from one ministry to another since 1960, 22% chairmen of the board of directors and 16% general directors of listed public companies. In the CTDs there are only 30 female mayors out of 360, there are no women among the presidents of regional councils, etc. Statistics which contrast with the commitments of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, who for example committed during the presidential elections of 2011 and 2018 to “accelerate the process of institutionalization of gender parity”, t - she points out. In addition to the theoretical aspects covered by Professor Viviane Ondoua Biwole, other gender experts presented on practical aspects such as the evaluation of the state of gender implementation within the DGB. It is visibly satisfied that the female staff of the DGB separated from their top manager Cyrill Edou Alo'o this February 7 around a festive dinner while waiting for the highlight of the activities the next day. Reaction Cyrill Edou Alo’o , Director General of Budget The festivities marking the 39th edition of International Women's Day were launched by the Cameroonian authorities and throughout society and not just within administrations. The celebrations continue and are varied. Within the DGB, we thought it necessary to organize a conference debate on the official theme of “Investing in women, accelerating the pace”. We therefore analyzed the said theme around the speakers following the example of PR Viviane Ondoua Biwole who raised all the issues on which gender issues must still progress taking into account the projects already carried out...Interventions and many others which aimed to train and enable the women and men of the DGB to become aware of gender issues...The different levers on which we must act to accelerate the pace have been identified and we leave here with proposals and an action plan to be implemented within the DGB in line with that of the Ministry of Finance and the national plan… We will therefore work on this action plan and its implementation. • CDHC: Satisfied with a draft bill on the fight against violence against women

CDHC: Satisfied with a draft bill on the fight against violence against women On the occasion of the 39th edition of International Women's Rights Day which is celebrated on March 8, 2024 under the theme: "Investing in women: Accelerate the pace", the Commission notes that, despite the consecration of the gender equality in the preamble to the Constitution of Cameroon of January 18, 1996 and in numerous African and universal instruments ratified by the State of Cameroon or to which it is subject. In Cameroonian society, there is an increase in violations of women's rights considered to be the weak link. The CDHC welcomes the publication of Circular No. 2023/001 of August 30, 2023 from the President of the Republic relating to the preparation of the State budget for the 2024 financial year which reaffirmed the integration of the approach gender-responsive budgeting as a priority in all sectors of national development, specifying the modalities for taking it into account. Subsequently, the Human Rights Commission welcomes the development of a preliminary draft law on the fight against violence against women and children to strengthen the existing normative framework, in order to compensate for the increase in violence done to women observed during the year 2023, with fifty-six (56) cases of femicide recorded. The CDHC notes with satisfaction that the number of women supported economically by MINPROFF increased from six thousand five hundred (6,500) to seven thousand five hundred (7,500) women receiving support. The Commission remains concerned by the worrying rise in gender-based violence in Cameroon where the MINPROFF, in its CDMT 2023-2025, estimates three thousand (3,000) cases of GBV for the year 2022 and thirty- five thousand (35,000) for the year 2023.” Since the first summit in Mexico in 1975, followed by that of Copenhagen, then Nairobi and finally Beijing, progress has been notable in the protection of women's rights but much remains to be done. The human rights institute recommends that public authorities strengthen the system for repressing gender-based violence and harmful practices against women and young girls, in particular by bringing the process of developing the -bill relating to the fight against violence against women and children. Finally, she invites populations in general and parents in particular to place greater emphasis on the education of young girls in the same way as that of young boys whose future actions very often reflect failures in the transmission of human values. in the family environment. While wishing all women a happy celebration, let us be architects of their protection in our environment and talk about the toll-free number 1523 around us. Clément Noumsi
